Naruto: Shippuden is an anime series adapted from Part II of the Naruto manga series and it follows the adventures of a group of young ninja from the village of Konohagakure. The series is a continuation of the Naruto manga, and continues the same storyline after the passing of two and a half years in the Naruto universe. Naruto leaves to train with Jiraiya. Upon his return, Naruto finds out that everyone in his age group has surpassed him in rank, and he’s fallen behind. Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno’s search for Sasuke Uchiha after he defected from Konoha in order to gain Orochimaru’s power. Team 7 led by Kakashi Hatake, gets new members Sai and Yamato. As Akatsuki’s plan unfolds, and Naruto slowly loses himself to the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, it becomes clear that more dangers await Naruto than ever before.
Watching Itachi’s soul depart back into the afterlife, Sasuke becomes conflicted with his resolve before being found by Suigetsu and Jugo. Elsewhere, across the battlefield, the various ninja that Kabuto reanimated are descending back into the afterlife.
On the front lines of the battle, the five Kage struggle to hold their own against Madara’s Susanoo-clad wood clones as Onoki rallies them. Deeming the Tsuchikage a threat as the Kage go on the offensive, Madara decides to break Onoki’s spirit by activating his final Susanoo to cut them down.
With Kabuto trapped within the mental loop of Izanami, Sasuke learns from Itachi the history of Izanami’s creation as a means to stop those in their clan who use the technique’s counterpart Izanagi and can only escape the loop by accepting their fate.
